Headshot or Portrait — What's Best for You?

A headshot is a faster process, ideal for teams and larger groups of staff — to put on LinkedIn, staff databases, your website and social media, a good likeness for your customers and contacts.  A portrait is a more considered process — it can convey what you bring to your role, and allow you to show a bit more of your personality and character.

What to Expect on the Day
Having your photograph taken isn't always your favourite experience, and I understand and empathise with how stressful this can be.  That's why I try to make it a relaxed and fun environment, where we're looking to get the best image of you, hopefully one you're happy with.

Before the day, we'll talk about what you need from the photographs — the style you're after, whether you'd like natural light, flash or a mix of both, and your choice of background: a plain studio backdrop, your own office environment, or somewhere outdoors.  When I arrive, I'll need a little bit of time to get the equipment set up, and I like to have a coffee and a quick chat to confirm what we're doing and the location, so we're all clear on what's agreed.  If time allows, you can often choose your images on-site, depending on the type of shoot. Standard poses are the most popular and universally accepted, especially for staff headshots, but if your business has a different culture, we can do something more creative.

Every session covers web and social use as standard. If you need the images for national advertising or wider commercial use, just let me know and I'll quote for that separately.  View the Portrait & Headshot Gallery

Team & Group Photography
Do you need everyone in the company photographed, separate teams, or both?  Having photographed several small teams and quite a few large groups of 100+ people, I found that with enough planning, taking the photographs can be very efficient and quick - as no one wants to be standing around waiting for ages.

We can discuss whether you want your teams photographed against a plain background, or a suitable one in your building or premises, or maybe outside - weather permitting.

For small local groups, a single group image from £175; for larger groups and multiple teams, contact me for further information.

All-Staff Head-shots — photographs of everyone in the company, getting through around 25 to 30 people an hour.  Staff are tidy and presentable before posing, due to the speed of the shoot.  A couple of simple poses, smile at the camera, done in under two minutes.  We can agree the styel (SOOC) beforehand, as there's minimal editing using the JPEG from the camera.  It's quick, it's good fun, and easy. Good for staff databases and your website.

Individual Head-shots — more suited to smaller businesses and large teams, where the images are going somewhere more professional rather than just internal use.  You get a bit more time per person, a few different poses, maybe a different background, a light edit, and more images to choose from.  Good for staff website profiles and LinkedIn.

Team Portraits — ideal for small teams, with a bit more time — around 15 minutes per person. We can use a couple of different locations and simple outfit changes, such as swapping jackets or tops, potentially simple hair changes, with 2 to 3 different poses. Images are fully edited with the same grading for consistency, ready to use for marketing.

Personal & Environmental — in a studio setting or on location, somewhere important to you or your role. The session are either a two or four-hour photography slot, with one hour sessions local to Berkhamsted, including 5 images for £275. We can choose a few different locations. Bring your own outfits and props for a few different looks, and a range of poses. A portrait is a more considered process — it can convey what you bring to your role, and allow you to show a bit more of your personality and character.
